Solar System 3D

Solar System 3D visualizes the orbital movements of the planets around our Sun. Data on the individual celestial bodies can also be called up.

Calculations and infos are based on parameters published by NASA. Planet textures are based on NASA elevation and imagery data.
The galaxy background consists of a skybox with randomly generated textures  ( https://tools.wwwtyro.net/space-3d/index.html )

For the sake of simplicity, the distances from planet center to planet center are identical.
In reality, the distances are sometimes so huge that the celestial bodies cannot be visualized in a meaningful way.
The orbital periods were scaled down true to scale in order to be able to simulate them meaningfully, as were the rotation periods.
Orbital inclinations were taken into account. Just watch Pluto's orbit to see what that means :)
The size of the planets was also scaled down true to scale, except for the Sun, as it is simply too huge.

To enter the planet view mode, simply left-click on the corresponding planet. This is done by raycasting, so clicking near the planet will not do the job :)
